Zein Alipbekov

Journalist, TV presenter and strategic communications expert with over 25 years of experience in media and public information policy. Graduate of the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

For more than 20 years he has worked at Khabar Agency, rising from correspondent and producer to director of news and analysis programming and deputy director of the Bilim zhane Madeniet channel. Author and host of analytical programmes. He served as editor-in-chief of the Astana Akshamy newspaper, PR adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture, official spokesperson of an interagency commission and press secretary of Khabar Agency. He now heads the media service of S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University. Recipient of the Kurmet Order, a Presidential media grant and the title of Honoured Cultural Worker.

With Azia Minds he moderates sessions and panel discussions in the state language (Kazakh), runs a short course for senior executives on communicating with the media, and offers one-to-one consultations for leaders on media relations, interviews and crisis statements.
